Arts and Design Project 1 - Softwares and editing programs

For my major project I will be using several editing softwares such as:

-Protools
-Reaper
-Spear
-Audio Sculpt
-Adobe audition
and
-Sound hack

I chose to edit on different softwares because some softwares have certain features that are better than  others. So to get the result I want I have to use different softwares.
Also this will help me gain more skills and learn how to edit songs using new softwares.

Arts and Design Project 1 - First Recording

This photo was taken by a friend of ours (Rihab Nasser) while we were trying to record the first recording.

(First on the left: Carla Forte (songwriter) - Second from the left: Stalo Ioannou (Singer) - Third from the left: Joe Saddy (Guitarist) - Forth and last from the left: Yara Abdalgany (which is me!).

We all gathered around at the studio to try and record the song, we were just messing around with guitar chords at first just trying to find some good ones for the singer to have as a helping hand while singing the song.
We repeated the song so many times to try to get the sound the songwriter had in mind.
After 2 hours of trying we finally recorded something on my phone.

We had a class for Arts and Design Project 1 and we had to present our ideas to our classmates.
I explained my ideas and showed my classmates my sketchbook and how I plan on doing my project.

Arts and Design Project 1 - Song Lyrics

I decided that the first thing I will be recording is a song.
The lyrics are written by a good friend of mine called Carla Forte.

Arts and Design Project 1 - Recording Process

We did a little experiment in class to remember to always keep records of our work and use them to fill our sketchbooks.

Our teacher got us small lego pieces to put them together and we had to record the process using pictures.
After we were done we printed out the process and stuck them on our sketchbooks.

I bought my sketchbook and designed it's cover.

I chose to keep it simple but at the same time show my progression route and my passion which is obviously music.
I used some of my favourite pictures and favourite quote from Kurt Cobain.

Arts and Design Project 1 - Ideas

I had many different ideas at the beginning of the term but now I am settled into one idea which is to record and edit different sounds.
The idea is to edit the sounds in a unique way and make the recordings sound the way I feel they should sound like.


I am thinking of recording street sounds, instruments and vocals.

New term... new project

So we started the new term and we also have to start our major project. My project this term involves music only and it is going to be different than last term's project.

I will be using a sketchbook to collect data and record the process of everything I will be doing for the project this term.
