A&D P.2 - Sound effect list

I made a list of the sound effects I want to make. So far they are 10 on the list and I am going to try to get through all of them. I am still researching about the topic in general and reading two books to help me as well.

I am going to use these sound effects for my Film for my Media Studies class.

List:
1-  Water drop
2-  Heartbeat
3-  Knocking on door
4-  Typing on keyboard
5-  Cards
6-  Door opening and closing
7-  Footsteps
8-  Clock Ticking
9-  Backpack hitting a body
10- Snap sound

A&D P.2 - Recording and Editing

I already started to record some sounds to use for the Major Project. I used the pen (given object) to make sounds on different instruments and objects. I also started to edit those sounds to see what sound effect |I can get from them, so far the first recording can work as a water drop sound effect.

I will post the recording on soundcloud and link it in a post.

A&D P.2 - Book

I also started reading a Book called Sound On Screen to help me with my Major Project. I am planning on using the sounds I record and edit for my Film for my Media 2 class as well.

A&D P.2 - Research so far on sound effects

I borrowed this book from the library to help me understand the concept of sound effects and the equipment and the tools I have to use to get the sounds I want.

The book has 19 chapters and each chapter explains or talks about a different aspect of sound effects.
In the first chapter, it talks and explains what are sound effects.
Then it explains the process and the tools used to reach a certain sound effect.

A&D P.2 - Concerts

I went to two concerts this term and both of them helped me understand some things about live events and live music.

The first concert I attended was in the O2 arena in London and the second one I attended was in Motorpoint Arena in Cardiff.

In the first concerts my seat was right behind the sound technicians which made it very exciting for me to see the work the technician was doing during the concert. In the second I got to be present for the sound check while the technicians and band were setting up the stage, equipment and instruments. It was a really good experience and it made me want to learn so many new things about live sounds and live events.

Here are some photos I took

A&D P.2 - Music Event

The De Montfort University Music, Technology & Innovation 2015-16 concert series presents:
Spaces and Singularities - curated by Kevin Dahan
Welcome to an evening of electroacoustic music, curated by MTI's Kevin Dahan.
Including the world premiere of new work from Dahan, as well as works by two of the grand masters of electroacoustic music: Horacio Vaggione's 'Mécanique des fluides' (2014) and John Chowning's 'Stria' (1977).

This event was held here in my university, I attended the concert and listened to some tracks that were very unique and interesting.
I personally liked the second track the most because it had a lot of suspense, it almost told a story using sounds only. It wasn't repetitive which was a good thing to hear multiple things in one track.
